Give microsoft their due, they do have some really good products that work well and do not have a prohibitive learning curve. Though I am not exactly a "media" expert, I have been able to master Microsoft Movie Maker quite well. And there are other products out there but in my experience, Move Maker is the best one.

Here is an example of a movie I created for the student lounge room, to showcase the business and to supersede the boring old slide show that used to be there.
